On a Carnivore Diet, chicken broth consists of simmering chicken bones (such as carcasses or backs) in water to extract their flavors and nutrients. It’s rich in protein and minerals which make it a good choice for hydration and as a base for soups or stews.

With only 3 simple ingredients and following these steps, you can make this zero-carb broth.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken bones
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 tbsp salt

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken bones under cold water to remove any impurities.
  2. Place the chicken bones in a large pot and cover with water.
  3. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 2-3 hours. Remove any foam that rises to the surface.
  4. Remove from heat and strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the bones.
  5. Season with salt.
  6. Enjoy warm or you can store it to use in other recipes.
